As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.
John Donne accurately wrote, “No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main,” because every man is not just a part of his family, his church, and his society, he is the cog that holds it altogether. Those expectations, and the temptations of today’s culture, demand that men be engaged in authentic community where they can talk about the hard-core reality of being a man. Every Lifeway event for men is a place to start real conversation and develop friendships with men who are dealing with the same career, family, and life issues. This a perfect place to find the accountability you need to stand against temptation and to cultivate a growing relationship with God.
Being a woman is no easy feat. Whatever role you find yourself in (daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, friend, coworker), you face a mountain of challenges. The good news is that God has spoken specifically to each role you play, but it’s so much easier to process and be empowered to live out those roles when you know you’re not doing it alone. Through our monthly women’s gatherings, we want you to know you’re loved by God and other women who face the same challenges as you. We want you to be empowered and encouraged to live the life that God has for you as a woman in Christ.
